Strath Taieri Playgroup in Middlemarch is a welcoming, community-based playgroup for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. We provide a safe, friendly space for local families to connect, play, and learn together.

Located at 33 Swansea Street on the Strath Taieri School grounds

We’re open Tuesdays and Thursdays during school terms from 9am–1pm, offering free play, crafts, outdoor activities, and social time for parents and caregivers. If you’re looking for a relaxed, supportive early-years group in the Strath Taieri area, come along and join our playgroup community.

Strath Taieri Connect has two trailers available for hire: a BBQ trailer and a chiller trailer.

  • BBQ Trailer: Stainless steel frame, prep surfaces, storage, space for two 9kg gas bottles and 120L cooler bins — great for events and gatherings.

  • Chiller Trailer: Insulated with 75mm poly panels, low-load design, and a 1.5 HP unit maintaining 3°C — ideal for keeping food and drinks cold.

Located within the Middlemarch Sports Pavilion on Browns Rd, is an Exercise Room. The Room is filled with a mixture of equipment including a treadmill, a stationary bicycle, and an indoor rower. You can also use free weights, benches, yoga mats, and other items for strength training and flexibility. It is a well-equipped space for different types of workouts, from cardio to weightlifting.

Need fuel? Head to GAS Middlemarch at 20 Swansea Street – open 24/7 with both petrol and diesel available.

Driving electric? You’ll find a ChargeNet EV Charging Station at 21 Browns Road, right next to the public toilets. It’s part of a nationwide network, offering convenient and reliable charging for your journey.

For non-urgent medical services, visitors are encouraged to call Healthline on 0800 611 116 for advice before calling the Middlemarch Surgery, which offers primary healthcare services to the local community and, where appropriate, to visitors.

Please consider making a first aid kit part of your essential items when travelling – and ensure you know how and when to use it.
