Experience the Excitement of the Otago Rally in Middlemarch.

The Otago Rally is one of the premier rally events in the Southern Hemisphere, attracting over 100 competing teams, including around 20 international crews. Held annually in April, this thrilling two-day event covers approximately 280km of competitive “special stages” through the stunning rural landscapes surrounding Dunedin and into Central Otago.

Every second year, Middlemarch proudly plays host to one of the rally’s key stages, most recently in 2025, when competitors enjoyed spectacular autumn weather and the warm hospitality of the local community. For visitors and motorsport enthusiasts alike, it’s an incredible opportunity to experience world-class rally action right at the gateway to Central Otago’s scenic beauty.
